HOW IT WORKS
CoPilot Ski Trainer secures the skier’s base of support while leaving the upper body and centre of mass free to establish balance independently. This technique provides accurate directional control for the instructor, while letting the learner feel the freedom of skiing.
Wrap Velcro straps on each boot with metal ring facing backward
Clip CoPilot rein onto the metal ring of each boot strap
...and you’re ready to go!
Choose an uncrowded easy run - and leave your ski poles behind
Hold reins firmly in both hands with some slack, and start down the slope
Check speed by slowing down and pulling in reins
Guide turns by GENTLY pulling back reins, avoiding abrupt movements
Pull back on the right rein to facilitate a right turn, and pull back the left rein for a left turn. The gentle rearward manipulation of the reins encourages the skier to shift balance from one ski to the other, thus facilitating turns in either direction.
TOWING
Rotate boot strap rings forward and clip on the CoPilot reins.
Tow the beginner along flat snow surfaces at the base of the mountain or up gentle inclines.
